Aw come on Adam, these regional biases are fun. It makes for entertaining reading sometimes. Certainly the suggestion of combining the ECAC and MAAC for purposes of a combined two bids is ridiculous. That truly is grounded in ignorance. Also, however, pre-1992 results from the ECAC are irrelevant today. Certainly in the last few years at least drawing an ECAC opponent has been a blessing. But, it would be great to see teams like Harvard, Cornell, etc. rise to prominence again. It was great seeing Yale make the tournament even if they were fading at the end of the year. It sounds like Princeton was coming on strong and truly was an excellent representative. (Testimony for why conference tournaments are great--the hot teams get to go to the NCAA's and represent the conference well.) ECAC hockey is fun and is played by players who, for the most part, are pretty serious about their educations. But at the moment, at least, it is down. And, that is why ECAC fans are so defensive. They better than anyone else know what has happened lately in the tournaments.
