** IF you have more of a life than I, or generall have better things to do
than to make a "Best Guess" on the HEA, or generally don't care.. DON'T
READ ANY FURTHER...

I happen to have a lot of free time on my hands right now, and came up
with my "Best Guess" with 15 games remaining in Hockey East.

First the Final Standings: Can Possibly finish (right now):
----------------------------------------------------------------
New Hampshrie 17-5-2 36 1,2,3,4
Boston Univ. 16-5-3 35 1,2,3,4
Boston Col. 14-7-3 31 1,2,3,4,5
Northeastern 12-9-3 27 1,2,3,4,5
Mass. Lowell 11-10-3 25 2,3,4,5,6
Maine 10-12-2 22 4,5,6
Providence 8-14-2 18 6,7
Merrimack 6-18-0 12 8,9
Mass. Amherst 4-18-2 10 8,9

**BRIEF** section about upcoming games:

--UNH, BU and BC are all done with each other in regular season.
Therefor, they can "look for help" from other teams.

--Northeastern is the most probable team to upset everyone, with
two games versus UNH, one versus BU and one versus BC.

--Look for Merrimack to take away valuable points from BU, helping
the Wildcats.

--Slots 1-4 are still anyone's going into this weekend, though BU
and UNH wins slow that race down a lot, as do the games between BC and
Mass-Lowell.

--The race to NOT be last is just about over (imho).
Umass-Amherst, though having made a good showing vs UNH will have to take
more than a couple from BU and BC to take a playoff spot.

--Providence is stuck. The most they can do at this point is hurt
UNH's chances of 1st and solidify Merrimack a spot in post season.

*** Best game to watch this week for HE playoff spot interests is gonna be
BC vs Mass-Lowell.

** The rest of this is lengthy and should not be viewed unless on a long
coffee break... This is how I got the points above...(again, imho).

BU vs UMA (3-1 points)
        - BU gives up 1 point in a tie against a team feeling really good
at home...

BU vs NU (2-0 points)
        - Huskies were lucky earlier in the season, but BU not ready to
give up more points.

BU vs MC (0-2 points)
        - Warriors take the win for Ron...

UNH vs NU (3-1 points)
        - UNH drops a point to a NU team looking for more in
must-win-time.
        - UNH won't accept anything less than 3 points here.

UNH vs PC (2-0 points)
        - Must win for UNH.
        - PC doesn't have as much to fight for.

UNH vs UML (2-0 points)
        - UNH will fulfill this sweep.

BC vs UML (2-2 points)
        - both teams fighting for home ice

BC vs UMA (2-0 points)
        - BC is one team that will not play down to their opponents this
late in the season

BC vs NU (0-2 points)
        - Northeastern will be upset over lack of points against UNH.

Maine vs UMA (0-2 points)
        - The battle of no offenses will be one by Regan.

PC vs MC (2-2 points)
        - PC not in their game, with assured playoff berth that's NOT at
home...

Well...

I was bored. Probably nowhere near correct, and I've probably
jinxed a lot of things (sorry Howard), but its kind of fun.

Drop the Puck!!!

Marcus
