I will say this AGAIN -- I agree this shouldn't have been a shock, but
all of this mental wrangling about why Lowell was sent West, comes down
to a VERY simple concept, and it has nothing to do with attendance.
Lowell compared to Clarkson and Cornell is totally and completely
irrelevant.
Lowell and WMU were deemed to be (through whatever process) the 3rd
and 4th best non-bye teams, and therefore, get #4 seeds. (LSSU and
Minny being 1st and 2nd best, get #3 seeds, etc...).
The teams switched regions because doing so avoided 2 potential
intra-conferences matchups. Possibly 2, now possibly none (amongst
those two teams).

That's it. Plain and simple. No more, no less. So let's cut the
AD NAUSEUM bitching and moaning and start worrying about the games.

The only time attendance came into play was in the Cornell-
Providence pair. And, not to mention, that Cornell was ranked higher.

Again, argue about the decision to avoid intra-conference matchups
all you want, but that decision was made a long time ago, coming into
line with how basketball does it, so, that being so, it's a no-brainer.
I don't understand the fuss, I really don't.

This is exactly how Comly explained it, and I don't understand the
confusion 4 days later.
