  This morning's Lansing paper says that President Cartwright has recommended
that hockey and men's gymnastics be eliminated for financial reasons
effective at the end of the academic year.  The action is pending approval
from the Board of Trustees at the April 13 meeting.  This would leave Kent
with 16 sports programs, 8 each men's and women's.
