A quick correction to my earlier post: it was Clayton Beddoes, not
Sean Tallaire, who scored the game winning goal.

I didn't see LSSU's first goal but Harvard's first goal came in the
second period. Brian Farrell wound up from just inside the blueline
and put a perfectly placed shot past Lacher, low to the glove side.
Harvard totally dominated the flow and tempo of the first two periods
outshooting the Lakers, 22-10.

But a few minutes into the 3rd, the Lakers started to control the play
keeping it in Crimson's end for much of the time. On a 2-on-2, Sean
Tallaire was breaking with another Laker. The other Laker crossed and
set a pick on Harvard D Sean McCann and ended up taking himself, McCann
and the other Crimson defensemen out. Tallaire walked in alone and beat
Harvard goalie Aaron Israel. About 7 or so minutes left in the third,
a Harvard player threaded a perfect pass across the crease which was
tipped in by McCann for a power play goal which tied the game.

With 5:07 left in the game, Harvard's Kirk Nielsen took an incredibly
idiotic run at a Laker player. Basically, he was guilty of both charging,
and hitting from behind. He leveled the Laker into the boards pretty good.
The referee rightly assessed Nielsen a 5-minute major. But not long into
the power play, LSSU's Tallaire (not Sean, the other one) was called
for obstructing Steve Martins. Aaron Israel made a few nice saves and
the game was sent into OT.

Shortly into OT, Harvard's Lou Body was injured while in the corner.
While trying to avoid a hit from Gerald Tallaire (there, I rememberd
his name), Body lowered his head. Being just far enough away from the
boards, he was hurt pretty good; perfectly legal check by Tallaire. Body
was down for several minutes but fortunately he was just roughed up a bit
(nothing serious, apparently). A nice play by Beddoes, turning on the jets
at the blueline broke in on Israel and gave the Lakers their 3rd straight
OT victory.

Of the 9 tournament games so far, there have been a record 4 go into OT.
3 of which have involved the Lakers... The Lakers make their 3rd straight
trip to the national championship game.
