Hello. This email is to alert you to a new program in Thomas Memorial
Library's ongoing virtual Community Wellness Toolkit initiative, which will
take place *this Tuesday evening, December 7th at 6:30pm.* The American
Foundation for Suicide Prevention <https://afsp.org> will be leading a
program entitled *Talk Saves Lives: An Introduction to Suicide Prevention*:

*Talk Saves Lives is AFSP’s <https://afsp.org/> education program that
provides participants with a clear understanding of this leading cause of
death, including the most up-to-date research on suicide prevention, and
what they can do in their communities to save lives. Participants will
learn common risk factors and warning signs associated with suicide, and
how to keep themselves and others safe. In addition to learning about the
scope of the problem and the health, historical and environmental factors
that put individuals at risk, participants will gain an understanding of
the protective factors that lower suicide risk, strategies for managing
mental health and being proactive about self-care, guidance on warning
signs and behaviors to look for, and how to get help for someone in a
suicidal crisis.*
This event is free and open to all. Registration is required so that we can
send you a Zoom link to join. You can register to join us here:
https://www.thomasmemoriallibrary.org/community-wellness-toolkit-2/.

We encourage you to sign up for this program and to please help us spread
the word about it to anyone you know who may find it beneficial right now
(regardless of where in the world they are located). Thanks for your help
with this and we hope to see you tomorrow night. Stay safe, be well and
have a wonderful day.
