Took a drive out to Storrs to check on the new UConn rink this morning.
The steelwork for the main arena is 3/4 complete with the wall members
erected and some of the roof trusses in place. The appurtenant facilities
which will house multiple varsity rooms, visitor rooms, rental team
rooms, showers, and public areas have the foundation work complete but
the floors are not yet poured. These facilities look to be about 2/3 the
floor space of the main structure.
All in all, very nice progress for a project which took a decade to get
off the ground. It looks to be flying along quite nicely now. I can't
wait until October.
