Regarding Joe Frederick (sp?) of Northern Michigan:
He played junior hockey with the Madison Capitols. I'm not sure
of his hometown but I thought it was Madison or one of the
surrounding towns. He certainly did blossom into a clutch player
for Northern this year. I remember down the stretch he got quite
a number of shorthanded goals.
Regarding Olympic hockey:
Tim Taylor got the job of coaching the 1994 US Olympic team.
Others who were interviewed include Maine's Shaun Walsh and
Wisconsin's Jeff Sauer. Local news reports say Sauer might still
go as an assistant coach. Taylor and Sauer have lots of experience
coaching recent US World Championship teams(both Sauer and Taylor),
last year's US Canada Cup team (Taylor replaced Bob Johnson as
head coach), and the 1991 Goodwill Games (Sauer was head coach).
