MUZERALL TABBED AT PRESEASON PLAYER OF THE YEAR BY SI FOR WOMEN
Minnesota senior Nadine Muzerall has been named the preseason national
player of the year by Sports Illustrated for Women in its College Hockey
Preview in the November/December of the magazine.
Muzerall led the nation during the 1999-2000 season in goals (49),
power-play goals (16), power-play points (27) and game-winning goals (9).
Her efforts led the Golden Gophers to the American Womenıs College Hockey
Alliance National Championship, where she scored the game-winning goal in
the title game and earned all-tournament honors.
Muzerall has two goals and five points, having missed four games. The
Mississauga, Ontario, native got off to a slow start last season before
putting together a 20-game point-scoring streak, during which time she
scored 36 goals and 52 points.
During her career, Muzerall has scored goals in 70 of 103 games, during
which time Minnesota has posted a 63-4-3 record. The Gophers are just
15-14-4 when she plays and does not score a goal.
