The University of Alaska Seawolves fell to the Kent State Golden Flashes
tonight by a score of 2-4. This is only the second time that UAA has
lost in the opening round of the Classic since its conception.
Although the majority of the play was in the Kent State defensive zone,
and although UAA did outshoot the Golden Flashes, Scott Shaw came up strong
in net, consequently earning the player of the game award, and kept the young
Wolves scoreless until the third period.
It should be an interesting game tomorrow night though, as the Seawolves
are 7-0-0 on the second night of a series...although they will be playing
British Columbia in the consolation game instead of Kent State again
(as would be done in a normal "series")...
Tuesday's Games:
Championship: Michigan State vs Kent State
Consolation: UAA vs British Columbia
UAA is now 10-4-1 overall, and 5-2 in NCAA Division I games.
