DC certainly has that. Plenty of hotels within a few blocks of MCI Center,
with a couple of massive hotel projects on the way to go with our new
convention center.
A good host city has a large arena. MCI seats ~18,000 for hockey.
A good host city has lots of things for people to do on the off-day.
Washington has:
-many, many museums
-memorials
-tours of the White House, Capitol, and Supreme Court
-a (lately) ever-increasing number of dining and entertainment options in the
downtown
A good host city has an arena I can walk to from home. :-)
John, I'd love to help you with this. Have you contacted Washington Sports or
th DC Convention and Visitors Bureau?
