JEFF LIBBY, the Islander prospect who sustained a serious eye injury
playing for the team's American Hockey League affiliate in Lowell, Mass.,
last Saturday, was transferred to the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Hospital
on Tuesday. He was accompanied by MIKE SANTOS, the Islanders' manager of
player contracts, and will visit JOHN J. WEYTER, who is a retina
specialist. Libby, a 24-year-old defenseman, appeared in one game for the
Islanders last season.
