Minnesota beat Wisconsin 3-2 Friday night in the first game of two at
the Kohl Center in Madison. Gopher goals were scored by Dave Spehar,
Reggie Berg, and Erik Westrum; Badger scoring was by Dustin Kuk and Kent
Davyduke. Freshman goaltender Adam Hauser picked up the win, raising
his WCHA record to 3-0; Graham Melanson took the loss for Wisconsin.
No goals in the first period, two goals by each team in the second, one
Minnesota goal in the third. It was a fairly slow-paced game with a
substantial number of penalties. Possibly the ice was soft and slow --
that's how it appeared on TV.
Same teams tomorrow night, with probably even more costumed fans.
