This bugged me too, but it's probably not their fault. The Cornell media guide,
in its "Pronunciation" section, actually *says* that "TIM-a-chin" is the way to
pronounce Darren's last name. Which it is not. The announcers could have done
a bit more research, I guess, but you're not supposed to have to second-guess a
media guide.
