I can think of a few guys playing in the CCHA (sorry, can't help you with
the other conferences). Mike Peron with Illinois-Chicago is from Newmarket,
Ont. I know Lake Superior has a black guy playing for them (I hesitate to
say African-American because I'm pretty sure he's from Canada). King is
from Evanston, Ill. Anson Carter is from Scarborough, Ont. Jamal Mayers
from Western Michigan is from Mississauga, Ont.
Now, I don't know any of these guys personally (but I have met most of them
and seen them play), so if one or more of them isn't really black, I hope
no one gets offended. I'm just going by looks.
