All the talk about cheers and jeers on the list lately reminds me of one
thing which I still chuckle about. When my wife and I attended our
first NorthernMichigan hockey game in 1990, we had the good(?) luck to
be seated right next to the band and the cheerleaders. After one round
of the "Sieve" cheer, which was fairly incomprehensible to us, I asked
the cheerleader who was jumping up and down right next to us, "What
exactly is it you're yelling after a Northern goal?" Her response: "I'm
not sure--I think it's 'ZZZTTT' 'cause that's the sound the puck makes
when it goes in the net."! ;-)
