A new Rural Library Sustainability workshop is now scheduled for Monday,
August 28 at Dyer Library in Saco from 8:30 to 4 pm. This site has been
added for the convenience of the libraries in York and southern
Cumberland County who have not yet attended one of the RLS workshops.

Two future workshops are already scheduled, one at Northern Maine
Community College in Presque Isle on Thursday, August 24 and another in
Augusta for the Maine Libraries Post Conference on September 19. All
workshops will cover general planning for libraries and technology
planning, including TechAtlas. Unlike the previously held workshops,
future sessions will include equal time on general planning and
technology planning including TechAtlas.

If you plan to participate in the district-wide technology plan to meet
the MSLN/E-rate requirements (a requirement set in law by the Maine
State legislature), you must use TechAtlas as a means of contributing in
the plan's development. Coming to one of the Rural Library
Sustainability workshops is one example of showing your involvement.
Participation in these workshops also ensures that Maine retains Gates
Funding for this project and our interest in future projects.

Please register for Monday, August 28 at Dyer Library in Saco, Thursday,
August 24 at Northern Maine Community College in Presque Isle or
Tuesday, September 19 at the Civic Center in Augusta. Instructors will
be Elaine Stanley and Janet McKenney. Hope to see you soon!!
