We are pleased to announce the launch of our new Maine Info Net 
web site at:

http://www.maine.gov/infonet

The new site is designed to inform the general public to a 
greater degree than the previous one.  It will be a tool in the 
upcoming effort to make the services of Maine Info Net more 
widely known and appreciated, and also more heavily used and 
fully supported.

In many of the sections of the site the first page is intended 
for the public as well as for library staff.  You will generally 
see a link on the left side of the screen that says "Library 
Info".  Click here to find the same information that you have 
found here in the past.

Please note the "Search Info Net" box at the right near the top 
of each page.  This is an excellent tool for locating 
information that you cannot find through the navigation links at 
the left side of the page.  As there may be a lag of several 
days before the new site is fully indexed, however, you may wish 
to wait until the end of the week to make heavy use of it. 

At the bottom of every page you will find a "Feedback" link.  
Please report corrections to any page by clicking its Feedback 
link and describing the problem.  After any large move of pages 
it is inevitable that there will be a few things that do not 
work quite right.  We will do our  best to fix  such problems 
quickly.

If you have bookmarked a page that is now no longer where it 
was, just change the stem of the address from 
"http://www.maine.gov/msl/infotech" to 
"http://www.maine.gov/infonet" and you should get the page.

If you have problems finding something you need, please call 
Maine State Library ( 287-5620) and ask for Deb Hensler or Ellen 
Wood.

There will be more changes coming soon, both in terms of content 
and in terms of aestetics.
