St. John's is an interesting story...they started the season going 1-4
including a split with lowly St. Scholastica (1-10). St. John's then
finished dead last in the pre-season MIAC tournament, going 0-3.
Since then, they're 4-0 and have swept 2 of the better
teams in the league. In their 4 regular season games, they have
allowed just 7 goals - the scores from last weekend's games
against Gustavus Adolphus (last year's MIAC champ) were 2-1
in both games. Looks like the 3-defensemen system is paying off.
Their next game is 1/4/94 at D-II powerhouse Bemidji State. It will be
interesting to see how they do.
