Erik already posted the boxscore for the Friday night
Wisc-Minn game (4-4 tie). The Saturday night boxscore
follows below.
Carol writes about Saturday's UW-Minn game:
>Callinan was again outstanding in goal for the Gophers. John Michelizzi
>started in net for the Badgers, but was replaced at the beginning of the third
>by Carey. Carey was very good and made many excellent stops, but Wisconsin
I believe Carey actually came in at the beginning of the second period.
The way that Michelizzi played should finally put to rest any
thoughts that Michelizzi should share playing time with Carey.
I'm not trying to put the blame on Michelizzi for the loss(the
whole team came out flat as Grandma's lefse) but 2 of the 3
goals looked stoppable.
Congrats to Minnesota-Duluth on winning the McNaughton Cup.
The Bulldogs have certainly surprised a lot of people this
year. Where did the "experts" predict them to finish at the
start of the season? Were they even predicted to finish in
the top four of the WCHA?
