Down 2-1 midway through the second, St. Lawrence put up a couple goals to
take a 3-2 lead into the third against regular-season champ Yale. The
Saints maintained their one-goal lead and had a golden opportunity to
extend it with a minute and a half of 5-on-3 play with about six minutes
left in the third... but they failed to score, and Yale's Mark Arcobello
and Matt Nelson shocked the Saints with a pair of goals 20 seconds apart to
win the game by a 4-3 score. The Bulldogs now advance to their first-ever
ECAC championship game...

... where they will face Cornell, who put together a rather stunning
comeback of their own. Princeton led the Big Red 3-1 late in the third and
appeared to have their second straight appearance in the final salted away,
but Evan Barlow scored on a brilliant end-to-end rush, and Riley Nash
hacked at a rebound several times and was able to put it home to tie the
game with 25 seconds left in regulation. Colin Greening finally settled
the matter midway through the second overtime when he recovered his own
whiffed shot and wristed the puck over a screened Zane Kalemba.
