The 40th Annual Hockey Banquet was Saturday night and there was a
very good turnout for it. Below are the team awards for the season:

Clifford P. Fitzgerald Scholarship
Presented annually to the outstanding junior or senior defenseman.
This award is named in honor of Peter Fitzgerald, an outstanding
Terrier defenseman from 1960 to 1962 and highly decorated Air Force
pilot.

Bryan Miller

Regina Eilberg Scholarship
Established by Gerald S. Eilberg, CBA '54, in memory of his sister.
Awarded to the player who combines the highest standards of Terrier
athletics and academic performance.

Frantisek Skladany

Bennett McInnis Award for Spirit
Given to the player who best typifies the spirit of a Boston University
hockey player both on and off the ice.

Brian Collins & Freddy Meyer

Most Improved Player Award
Awarded to the player who has improved the most from October to
March - rather than the player who has improved the most from one
year to the next.

Ryan Priem

The Friends Albert Sidd Unsung Hero Award
The recipient of this award is selected by the Friends of Hockey in
memory of Albert Sidd, a founder of the Friends and Chairman from
1963 to 1979. Awarded to the player who contributes much during his
four years and does not garner the proper recognition.

Mark Mullen

George V. Brown Most Valuable Player Award
Awarded to the player who would be missed the most if he were not in
the line-up. It goes to the most valuable player, not the most
outstanding player.

Sean Fields

2003-04 Captain
Mark Mullen
According to Coach Parker Mullen was a runaway choice among his
teammates and the coaches.

Announced but not presented at the banquet:
Gordon "Mickey" Cochrane Award
Named in honor of an outstanding performer in baseball, basketball,
football, ice hockey, and boxing, who was later named to both the
Boston University Hall of Fame and the Baseball Hall of Fame in
Cooperstown, NY, the award is presented to the student who is chosen
the top male athlete of the year, regardless of class. The recipient is
chosen by the Athletic Department.

Freddy Meyer
Meyer is the 19th hockey player to be win the award in the 40 years it
has been presented.
