As reported by the St. Cloud Times, Goalie Jake Moreland will be out for a month or so with a dislocated kneecap:

Huskies goalie Jake Moreland had a doctor examine his injured left knee on Tuesday and the diagnosis was about what everyone expected.

The St. Cloud State senior suffered a dislocated kneecap during a collision behind the goal late in Saturday's 5-4 loss at North Dakota. He said Tuesday he will wear a brace and remain on crutches this week, but he could resume light skating - without goalie pads - next week if he can withstand the pain.

Redshirt freshman Jason Montgomery (0-5-1) will start this weekend against Denver at the National Hockey Center. True freshman Adam Hanna also will be available and Huskies coach Craig Dahl said Hanna will start Monday's exhibition game against Team Italy.

Moreland could be out three to six weeks.

"I didn't have an MRI or anything, but it doesn't look like there's any structural damage," said Moreland, who underwent surgery on the same knee earlier in his college career. "It's hard to say how long it'll be before I'm back, but you've got Minnesota coming up (Jan. 3-4) and everyone wants to play in those games if they can."

On Tuesday, though, Moreland could only slightly bend his leg. Huskies coach Craig Dahl hinted it might be a longer recovery.

"We'll be lucky if we get him back in a month," Dahl said. "I wouldn't be surprised if it's (a Jan. 24-25 series against) Duluth before he's playing again."
