The NU Huskies scored a huge win tonight at Matthews Arena 5-3 against the
nationally ranked UMass-Lowell "Riverhawks." NU won the first period 2-0 but
Lowell came back with three of their own in the second to go up 3-2. It was
all Husky scoring in the third with 3 of their own. Down a man in the last
two minutes and skating against a Lowell 6 on 4, Hobey Baker candidate Jim
Fahey banked a clearing shot off the glass that rolled in a long curve into
the Riverhawk net to make the final 5-3.
The two teams meet again Sunday - 7pm at Tsongas Arena in Lowell.
