RPI 5, Brown 3
Derek DeCosty scored another hat trick in this game to give RPI
their first ECAC win. Brown's Joe Beck scored first at 9:28 in the first
period. DeCosty tied it up at 17:57. He also scored the first goal of
the second period at 1:31.

Vermont 4, Yale 4
Jack Duffy of Yale scored a power play goal at the end of regulation
time to tie the game. Yale led first with a pp goal by Craig Ferguson at
16:32 in the first period. In the middle of the second period UVM scored
four goals in three minutes: M. McLaughlin @ 3:06, A. Miller @ 4:38,
S. Jagod @ 4:53 and R. Love A 6:12 (pp). Yale scored again at 17:29 in the
third on a pp goal by J. Sather. After pullin their goalie Letourneau, Yale
scored twice within 35 seconds. The third goal was by J. Blaeser @ 19:25.
Sounds like this was a wild and exciting game!

Army 6, Dartmouth 3
Two teams fighting to stay out of last place. Army scored the first
two goals early in the second period. The period ended at 2-1, Army. Army
got the next two goals and never led by less than two for the rest of the game.

Princeton 4, Harvard 3

Cornell 7, SLU 4
Mike Lappin of SLU scored first at just 1:32 in the first from a pass
out of the right corner. Cornell quickly regrouped and dominated the rest of
the period. Ratushny scored at 6:23, Belzile at 8:50 and Nikolic at 17:08
(pp). In the second period Marsh of SLU replaced goalie Kuntar with freshman
Spagnoletti. Kuntar stopped 14 shots in the first. This move was to shake
the SLU players up. Spagnoletti stopped 6 of eight shots. Derraugh of
Cornell scored at 6:02 on the pp. Allain of SLU scored at 9:59, Nobel of
Cornell @ 10:18 and M. Lappin again @ 15:38 (pp). During the period SLU
failed to convert on several big pp opportunities. In the third period
Cornell scored twice more on Spagnoletti: Manderville @ 1:26 (pp) and
Derraugh again @ 6:52. At 10:15, SLU put in the third string goalie Giroux.
SLU managed to score once more with M. Lappin getting a hat trick @ 9:32.
Cornell was 3 for 7 on the power play. I bet that you all can guess who
was the referee. Yep, Pierre Belanger. He called 20 penalties. SLU's main
down fall was their 1 for 8 while on the power play. Three of Cornell's goals
were deflections of shots from the point. Crozier had 20 saves for Cornell.

Clarkson 5, Colgate 2
Clarkson managed to improve their series standing with Colgate with
an essentially close win over Colgate. It was 1-0 Clarkson from 8:31 in the
first until 7:03 in the third. Casselman scored the first goal when he
picked up a rebound from a sgot by d'Orsonnens that Menges had left in the
slot. This goal came while the teams were playing 4 on 4. Not too many
penalties were called by Ref Gallagher in the first period. The game did
go by quite quickly, ending at 9:45 after a 7:35 start. There was no icing
called until the third period. Both teams looked quite equal in the first
period. As previously mentioned, Colgate had a hard time clearing their
zone when Clarkson was doing a good job of forechecking. This was what
helped Clarkson. In the first period Chris Roggles for Clarkson had 17 saves.
Afterwhich, Clarkson did a good job of tightening up their defense and allowing
only 13 shots in the next two periods. Clarkson's defense did a fantastic
job of killing off 2 minutes worth of a 5 on 3 Colgate pp late in the first
period. Clarkson was to kill off a similar one midway through the second.
During these situations Clarkson would use a solid defenseman and two of their
hard hitting, hard working forwards.
In the second period it was Clarkson 0, Colgate 2-2=0. They has two
power play goals called back. One for a man in the crease, which wasn't
protested, and one for high-sticking with the puck going off a Colgate
players stick raised above the goal. Gallagher was calling a few more
penalties and Clarkson did a good job killing off theirs. Colgate, which
had fewer of the pp to kill, also kept the puck on the edge and did a good
job. Clarkson couldn't get their pp really going until the third period.
Clarkson let out a sigh of releif when their and the ECAC's leadong
scorer, Dave Trombley, scored at 7:03 of the third. With Colgate needing to
take more chances, Clarkson's offense revved up and whipped off three more
goals: Belanger @ 9:42 from Sanderson and Trombley on the pp, Trombley again
at 16:42 pp and Mike Kozak @ 17:32, with Craig Conroy picking up one of the
assists. Conroy is one of the most used freshman forwards and still looking
for a goal. With a 5-0 lead, Clarkson's defense took a short nap and gave up
the puck twice to Wilde and Raffoul to assist Richard on both of his goals.
The goals were at 17:57 and 18:25. This line was to play most of the rest of
the game for Colgate. Menges had a strong game in goal for Colgate, making
33 saves.

Cornell at Clarkson thoughts:
Tonigh will see the last two undefeated teams plays. It will be a
tough game. I think that the Clarkson defense will make the difference. If
they play well and move the puck out their zone well Clarkson will have a
chance. Cornell's defense will be a big test for the Clarkson forwards.
Clarkson's goalie problems seem to be really non-exsitent. Which ever
goalie of the three plays, they each seem to play well when it really counts
and are reliable. It is anybodies guess at to who will start tonight. Phil
Comtios hasn't played since Nov 2 while Currie and Roggles have both played
twive since then. I think that many of the Clarkson fans are nervous about
this game and we'll find out tonight how good are team really is.
