   Dave Smith writes that he heard that the "Black Hole Cheer" may have
originated at Cornell when an HE band memebr taught it to a Cornell band member
when HE was still in the ECAC.  Well, I can assure you that the cheer was not
being done yet as of 1986 (the year I graduated), because when I returned to
Lynah for my first game after moving back to Ithaca in the fall of 1990, I
heard the cheer for the first time (and was amused)!
