As to who has access to all stats:

On occasion I post scores - on out of town games when i catch the game on
the radio. I include what scoring I can, unofficial as it is - but not
knowing the opposing team as well as I should, knowing the spelling even
less well, coupled with incomplete reporting from the play-by-play
announcer and inability on my part to write fast enough, hear exactly
what he (ours is male) says, hear above the crowd noise, etc. I do well
to even get the scoring to say nothing of th penalties.

Now, humans have a great talent for generalizing, and for some purposes
that is quite fortunate. However to extrapolate from some individuals
who have access to official stats to say the all or most of those who
post have access to that info is incorrect - unless you have done
some kind of decent survey to establish that fact, and I find it a
bit insulting to be accused of reporting only part of what I am
supposed to know (when in fact I don't have that information, nor am
I in a good position to get it.

I will find it very eac

I will find it very easy to post nothing at all, which is certainly not
in the spirit of what h-l used to be. (Where is Keith Instone when
you need him?) I support the statements of Mike Machnik in all essential
respects.

Perhaps it is time to disallow any posting to info-h-l except by the pros
and those who are willing to post complete stats - but I want to
encourage EVERYONE to post to hockey-l - partial stats and all. Then those
who want to see complete stats should only subscribe to info-h-l.

Hot? no, it is about 40 degrees outside.

More power to those willing to post to hockey-l!!
