I too have made the same observations that Steve has made.  Perhaps the
explanation is that the more prolific writers on Hockey-L are now regular
correspondents for the US College Hockey web page.
 
While the content of hockey web pages has improved tremendously in the three
years that I have been on Hockey-L, (including USA Today and US College
Hockey Onlin) the web pages can still not replace the widely diverse
"opinions" that one has become accustomed to on Hockey-L.
 
Perhaps with this encouragement, some of the "regular" commentators on
Hockey-L can still find time to post their opinions and game summaries.
