One thing to remember about Northern's move: Apparently it had as much to
do with academics as with athletics. Given that they're a state
university and the fact that their enrollment has been dropping the past
few years, the school's been trying to find away to increase their
exposure to the rest of the state of Michigan. Granted, I don't know how
many people will decide to go to Marquette for school just because they
saw the hockey team play once, but it can't hurt having them making
appearances at 5 other schools in the state every year. As for no longer
playing MTU, I'd bet that the schools work something out so they continue
to play at least once a year (I could see them playing 1 game per year
alternating between the schools.) That's my $.02.
