The biggest surprises: Miami is tied for first and Bowling Green
is ready to become ninth.
Out of conference, Michigan swept Minnesota while Lake Soo split
with UP-rival NMU. In league play, MSU swept BGSU and Miami swept
AT Ferris. WMU took 3/4 in Columbus.
Also, I will be getting another press release on Monday. An astute
reader of the following release will be able to figure out what
will be announced tomorrow.

NOTES
Flames' Judson moving up UIC's Charts: University of Illinois at Chicago
senior left wing Rick Judson currently ranks sixth on the UIC lists for career
points (129) and assists (70), while placing seventh in goals (59). His next
goal will tie him for sixth place with Colin Chin, and should he garner two
points this weekend at Bowling Green, he will equal Rob Klenk's fifth place
position of 131 career points.
Michaud now second on Miami career saves list: Redskin senior netminder Mark
Michaud made 34 saves in Friday's win at Ferris State. His career save total
now stands at 2,267 surpassing Steve McKichan's mark of 2,244 for second place
on the Miami charts. Former NHL goaltender Alain Chevrier is the school
record holder with 2,440 saves.
Jones celebrates birthday in style: Western Michigan senior right wing Keith
Jones turned 23 on Friday and celebrated by scoring two goals and adding two
assists in the Broncos 4-4 overtime tie at Ohio State. Jones assisted on
WMU's first two goals, and scored their final two markers. On Saturday, he
responded with five assists in Western Michigan's 9-6 win in Columbus. He had
two assists in each of the first two periods and one in the third period.
Felsner's 10-point weekend gives him scoring lead: University of Michigan
senior left wing Denny Felsner had two goals and five assists in the Wolverines
7-3 triumph over Minnesota on Friday. Felsner scored Michigan's first and
last goals and set up the five goals in between. The CCHA record for points
in a game is eight held by four different players. In Saturday's 7-6 Michigan
win, Felsner had a goal and two assists. He now has six goals and 11 assists
for 17 points in six games overall.
WMU's Ward nets five goals in Columbus: Western Michigan sophomore right wing
Colin Ward scored the Broncos first two goals on Friday, both on the power
play. Both times, his goal tied the game (1-1, 2-2). On Saturday, Ward's
first goal gave WMU a 3-2 lead, and after Greg Burke knotted the score at
three, Ward scored a power play tally that started a three-goal outburst for
the Broncos. His hat trick goal on Saturday, gave the Broncos an 8-4 lead.
Redskins on a tear: Miami University has five won straight games for the
first time since the 1980-81 season when the Redskins defeated Western
Michigan once, followed by sweeps over Michigan-Dearborn and Wilfrid Laurier.
The Miami record for consecutive wins is eight set by the 1979-80 squad.
Falcons in midst of school record road losing streak: Bowling Green has lost
a school-record 16 consecutive road games. The streak began with a 4-2
setback at Michigan State's Munn Arena on December 15, 1990. The Falcons
entertain UIC this weekend followed by a week off. Bowling Green plays Miami
in a away-and-home series over Thanksgiving weekend.
