I am surprised to see that no one has posted anything about the Wisconsin
vs. UND game last night, so here are my 2 cents (for what they are worth).
First off, Wisconsin's goalie, Dobenspeque (SP!), played an
INCREDIBLE game. IMHO, he is the reason why UW won the game.
UND greatly outshot UW the first two periods of the game, but
only lead by one. In fact, the UND goal came with only 1 second left in
the second period. The first two periods of the game, UND also appeared
to be much quicker then UW.
The third period started out the same as the previous two, and
most of the fans at Englested were wondering if Kvalevog was going to get
a shut-out. However, in the last ten minutes of the game, the Badgers
scored two goals. The second goal was a pure luck goal as the puck was
deflected into the net. UND ended up pulling the goalie, and UW scored
again.
One interesting thing to note, an early UND goal was ruled
no-good by the refs. If it had counted, who knows how the game would
have ended.
Final comments: UND must put away teams!
UW is better then their record indicates.
