Dave's not kidding. In the three games played between BU and UML this
year, the teams scored a total of 45 goals - an avg of exactly 15 a game.
Along the same lines, allow me to give an example of why I am proud of
a Merrimack team that finished 7th and went out in the first round.
1994-95 GOALS AGAINST PER GAME AVG FOR HE TEAMS
VS BU GP GA GA/GP VS MAINE GP GA GA/GP
1 Merrimack 4 15 3.75 1 Merrimack 3 9 3.00
2 Northeastern 4 17 4.25 2 Boston College 3 12 4.00
3 Maine 4 18 4.50 Northeastern 3 12 4.00
4 New Hampshire 3 14 4.67 Providence 3 12 4.00
5 Providence 3 16 5.33 5 New Hampshire 4 17 4.25
6 Mass Amherst 3 19 6.33 6 Boston University 4 20 5.00
7 Boston College 4 27 6.75 7 Mass Lowell 3 17 5.67
8 Mass Lowell 3 25 8.33 8 Mass Amherst 4 23 5.75
You cannot ask for more than that in seven games against the league
co-champions.
In fact, NO team in DivI posted a lower avg vs BU than Merrimack did.
Only Princeton (2.00 in 1 game) posted a lower avg vs Maine than
Merrimack did.
Before Dave asks, I won't be putting up the rankings vs Lowell. :-)
