Ok, we've all heard the arguments for and against both of these
teams receiving bids to the NC$$. As a die hard (emphasis) Engineer's fan
I feel the need to express that Brown definitely deserved a bid over RPI.
The fact is that in the second half of the season, Brown was one of the
hottest teams in hockey. They came on strong during the playoff drive and
deserve to be commended on turning around what may have been a horrible
season. Who can argue against a team that beats both Lake Superior AND
Harvard.

RPI, on the other hand, played mediocre at best after an emotional
win against Harvard at the Fieldhouse. In that game RPI reached their peak.
From there on in RPI's play was best summarized as sloppy, with occasional
sparks of the true talent that the team possesses. During the final weekend
of the season they did manage to beat a slumping Yale hockey team but could
not muster as much as a tie against Princeton. Note RPI went 0-1-1 against
Princeton this season. If this school is truly going to contend, maturity
and consistency must be instilled in the team.

RPI fans, don`t despair. Due to the fact that RPI has only one graduatng senior, Allen Kummu, a great season can be expected for the next few seasons.
With a core of solid, and talented Freshmen and Sophomores, RPI has the
potential to become a national hockey powerhouse. (Hope for excellent recruit-
ment despite the lack of available scholarship $$'s)

So please, will everyone stop whining about who should and should not
have made the NC$$ tourney, and enjoy the games yet to come??
