Personally, I would prefer to have no political swipes, comments,
asides, jabs, etc. on this list. But as some people seem to think it
is fine to make comments about Al Gore can we also mention that
President Bush lied to the American people when he made his case for
invading Iraq on the list?
Getting back to hockey, my family and I arrived home from Columbus
on Friday 15 April after a week in Pennsylvania and attended the BU
hockey banquet Saturday evening. It was held at Agganis Arena with
the pre-dinner event in the Francis Burke Club Room and the dinner on
the floor of the arena with the scoreboard lowered so it could be
used for the video highlights and senior recognition.
The BU award winners were:
Ed Carpenter Award (new) awarded to the team's leading scorer:
David Van der Gulik.
Clifford P. Fitzgerald Scholarship to the outstanding junior or
senior (to be) defenseman:
Dan Spang
Regina Eilberg Scholarship to the player the highest standards of
athletics and academics:
Brad Zancanaro
Bennett McInnis Award for Spirit:
Brian McConnell
Most Improved Player Award (usually the player who improves most from
October to March):
John Curry
Friends Albert Sidd Unsung Hero Award:
Matt Radoslovich
Kevin T. Mutch Award to the MVP in the BU-BC series (selected by the
coach of the team that wins the season series. In the event of a tie
[like this season], both coaches can select their team's MVP - Has BC
ever given out this award?):
John Laliberte
George V. Brown Most Valuable Players:
John Curry and Bryan Miller
Co-Captains for 2005-06:
Brad Zancanaro and David Van der Gulik.
