Thoughts on Saturday evening game: NMU 12
CC 3
Northern looked VERY impressive throughout most all of this
contest. The offense was really strong. The line of Hiller,
Beattie and Beaufait has 28 points for the weekend! The weekend
kept alive two significant "streaks":
1. The Cats are unbeaten in their last 28 games
(both a NMU and WCHA record)
2. The Cats haven't lost at home in 35 straight games
The starting goalie for NMU was Corwin Saurdiff who had an
outstanding game behind a strong defense. He was pulled late in
the third period with Jamie Welsh being placed between the pipes.
CC goalie Paul Badalich made 32 saves during the contest and had
one heck of a workout that evening.
Beaufait was moved to the right wing of the Beattie-Hiller line and
got his first hat trick as a Wildcat. Beaufait finished the
weekend with eight points while both Beattie and Hiller completed
the weekend with 10 each.
Goalie Saurdiff made 14 saves and picked up his first assist on a
pass to Tony Szabo in the second period.
Attendance was 3,744
Power play opportunites: NMU, 4 of 8 / CC, 2 of 8
Penalties: NMU 19 / CC 14
