I thought that the policy for Olympic sports was that they must have
one Olympics, at least, as a demonstration sport, before it is allowed
to become a medal event.
 
This all sounds a bit conflicting?  Sounds as if they won't be there
at all in 1994 and then will be a full medal event in 1998.  Am I
misunderstanding the way new olympic sports are added or is this all
some wild conspiracy meant to confuse me? :)
