Brown beat RPI tonight 2-1 at the Meehan in one of the best complete games I
have seen from Brown in a while a real team effort with key plays from a
number of guys including Kirley whose critical check setup Brown's second
goal. Brown controlled most of the game preventing RPI from getting any sort
of organization together in their game. The last two minutes of the game
Brown was able to keep the puck out of the zone, throwing a wrench in RPI's
pulling the goalie, and was able to catch RPI's little sneaky play off the
face off in their own end where after the puck is dropped one skates to the
bench and enters on the left door and another hits the ice from the right door
to catch a pass up ice ideally on the break away however that sneaky play
Coach Fridgen called a TO for didn't work. Brown's passing and confidence with
the puck was much improved tonight, I may venture to say it was the best I
have seen all season. Brown now is undefeated in its last six games, and put
an end to RPI's own 6 game unbeaten streak. In a game USCHO was hyping as a
critical matchup between the league's two hottest teams it did not dissapoint.
After last night's win over Union Brown has swept its last two home stands
for the first time in..I can't remember how long.
