Colorado College continues their winning streak against Minnesota tonight,
defeating the Gophers 5-1. The Tigers have now won 7 in a row, and are
looking to complete a second consecutive season sweep of the Gophers
tomorrow night.

CC dominated the first period, outshooting Minnesota 19-3, and only one of
the 3 shots was really a good shot on goal. Darren Clark got the Tigers
rolling 3 minutes into the period with the first goal. CC went on the
power play twice midway through the period (both on the same person for
the same penalty), and Jesse Heerema capitalized on the second one to make
it 2-0. On power play #3 late in the period, Scott Swanson slapped one in
from the blue line past Adam Hauser to make it 3-0 and CC 2 for 3 on the
power play.

The second period started off with a bang, with CC on the power play for
an unsportsmanlike conduct call on the Gophers at the end of the first.
Justin Morrison made it 4-0 about 5 seconds after the penalty expired.
About 9 minutes into the period, Minnesota finally made a dent in Jeff
Sanger on their third power play of the night, with 4 seconds left, as
Aaron Miskovich got the lone Gopher goal. 4 minutes later, Scott Swanson
repeated his blue line trick on the other end of the ice to make it 5-1.
Hauser got pulled after this one, and Rob LaRue got to play for the first
time ever. He did pretty well for never having played a game. Shots were
pretty even for the period, with CC having a 10-9 edge.

No scoring in the third period. Minnesota got three more power play
opportunities, but couldn't get anything in the net. At one point in the
period there was a jumble in front of the Gopher net and the puck went in,
but Robin Anderson waived it off, signaling that it had been kicked in.
Shots were pretty even again, with the Gophers having a 11-10 edge.

Same two teams tomorrow night.
