Colorado College completes a sweep this weekend, defeating Michigan Tech
3-1 tonight. It's the first time the Tigers have won 2 games in a row
since mid-December.

The Huskies took the lead first a little after the halfway mark of the
first period, after CC gave up the puck at center ice and Paul Cabana put
one past Jeff Sanger. The Tigers had two power plays in this period, but
weren't able to score. Shots ended up 9-8 in Tech's favor.

The second period was a bit slow. The Huskies got a power play with about
5 minutes left but couldn't do anything. The Tigers got their own power
play about 45 seconds after coming off the penalty kill, and Justin
Morrison made it count with 56 seconds left in the period, bringing things
to a 1-1 deadlock.

CC took the lead 6 minutes into the third period when Mark Cullen put
Justin Morrison's rebound past David Weninger. The Tigers then got two
consecutive power plays when a Tech player got called for cross-checking
and roughing midway through the period. Dan Peters netted the final goal
for CC during the second power play. But about 30 seconds later, Chris
Hartsburg got called for a checking from behind major, and the Tigers were
once more on the penalty kill. There was 2 minutes of 4-on-4 during the
power play, as the Huskies had a player sent to the box. Weninger was
pulled with 40 seconds left, but CC held on and didn't let any more goals
in.

Now the Tigers have a week off to rest up before they host Minnesota Feb.
5th-6th.
