I am in Boston for LISA '98, the 12 Systems Administration Conference.
Since my evenings are mostly free, I'm taking the opportunity to see some
college hockey.

The first game was last night, New Hampshire vs. Boston
College at Conte Forum on the BC campus. I got to my hotel just in time
to check in, pick up my conference registration materials, and ride the
Green Line out to BC. I asked directions to the arena from a couple of BC
students who, having ascertained that I was not a UNH fan, complied. A few
minutes later I arrived at the arena and bought my ticket. A couple of
minutes later, Rick McAdoo and Linda Harrison arrived. They managed to
get guest privilege for me at the "Pikes Peak Club" in the arena, and we
went there for pre-game dinner and hockey conversation. Then, the game.
It was a physical, hard-fought rematch of the previous night's game at UNH
(a 6-1 UNH win). This time, tenacity and a bit of good fortune (a goal at
approximately 19:59.8 of the) propelled BC to a 6-3 win. After the game,
back to the Pikes Peak Club for refreshments and more hockey talk, then
Rick and Linda graciously gave me a ride downtown to my hotel.

Next game is Tuesday night, BC at Merrimack.

This report is a throwback to the early days of HOCKEY-L, when trip
reports were frequently posted. I hope you enjoy reading it, and hope to
see more people post trip reports to the list.
