Former North Stars coach Pierre Page stopped in St. Cloud to watch
national amateurs compete and said Hastings forward Jeff Taffe, who has
committed to the Gophers, will be the state's next first-round NHL draft
pick.
 
 
Defenseman Ben Clymer says it's still 50-50 whether he will return to
the Gophers for his sophomore season or sign with the NHL Boston Bruins
or Western League Seattle Thunderbirds.
 
Former Gophers wing Joe Dziedzic, who scored more than 50 points with
the Pittsburgh Penguins' Cleveland farm club last season, is a free
agent considering San Jose, Ottawa and Buffalo.
