Everyone knows that the officials will give the home crowd one chance at
disrupting the game. After that, the penalties come for delay of the game.
I saw the direction from where the second round of oranges came from and, at
first, had suspected a certain fraternity that inhabits that section. But,
after the game, I talked to many of the brothers of this house and they told
me that none of them had thrown any oranges the second time. (The first time?
Well, we won't go into that =-) They did tell me, however, that they saw the
people who did throw them and did not recognize them as Union students.
Beginning to get the picture? The popular "theory" is that a non-Union
supporter was responsible for the second tosses. I have another possible
"theory" for this, but I don't have the time to explain(but don't hesitate to
write if you want to know).
All in all, it was just another athletic contest between Union and RPI. Being
on the Union Track Team for four years has produced a healthy disdain for the
boys from Troy. As far as the fight that Jim mentioned but did not know the
cause, a Union student was dressed up in costume, including a full-head mask,
and was running around the stands attempting the get the Union Faithful
cheering. But, when he ran by the RPI band, he was immediately assaulted by a
band member and a huge fracas ensued. It took about 5 minutes to calm everyone
down, and the band members were ejected from the arena. (Jim, if you want the
whole story, come see me). But, if you think this event was bad, you should see
the annual Union-RPI football game. It gets fairly gruesome. Hope this clears
a few things up. Keith.

P.S. If UND fans throw dead and bloody animals onto the ice and don't
get a penalty, why should a few oranges be scrutinized. Next time, the RPI
goalie should just stay in the net. He was nailed.
