Here are the scores and small blurbs about the games this past weekend.

Clarkson 5, RPI 4 OT
Guess what, the first period was the Pierre Belanger show. He
dominated the period calling penalties left and right. Both coaches were
a little put off. All four goals in the period were power play goals,
including 5 on 3. Clarkson scored first, and third. RPI tied it each
time. The second and third periods saw a lot less of Pierre. Though I
do recall him yelling at one of the guys going into the box in the first
period. Dave Trombley finished off his natural hat trick to start the
scoring in the second period. At the end of two it was Clarkson 4, RPI 3.
Midway through the third period RPI tied it up while on the power play.
Clarkson was threatening for most of the last 5-7 minutes iof the period
but couldn't score. Clarkson won it after 2 minutes into OT. Mike Kozak
scored from Hugo Belanger, who didn't score at all but picked up 5 assists.
The Juneau line for RPI scored most of their goals. The RPI coach played them
as much as possible and hopes to get more scoring from the other lines soon.
Clarkson had Chris Roggles in goal, 3 games, 3 different goalies.

SLU 1, UVM 0
This was a tight game with the only goal coming midway through the
third period. I can't remember who scored (LaPierre ?), but Andy Pritchard
got the first assist.

Clarkson 7, UVM 4
After 4 minutes of the game it was UVM 2, Clarkson 0. It was a poor
defensive effort that left Jason Currie all alone. However, Clarkson showed
poise by regaining control and tying it up by the end of the first period.
great poise by regaining control and tying it up by the end of the first
period. Clarkson went on to score 4 of the next 5 goals. In the end,
7 different players scored for Clarkson (no points for H. Belanger).
This shows a good solid scoring threat from all offensive lines.
Clarkson was 2 for 3 on the power play and is now 17 for 33. Not too
shabby. Also 45 goals for, 8 per game average. This was a good weekend.
Besides winning on the road, Clarkson traded goals with RPI and won on Friday
and came from behind early to beat UVM. This bodes well, especially after the
3 pre-season blow-outs.

SLU 6 (or so), RPI 2 (or 3) sorry about that.
RPI was never really in this won and SLU is showing some good
offensive power which nobody mentioned in any of the pre-season fore-
casting. They will be in there at the end, more than last year.

This weekend the big ECAC games will all be in the North Country with
Cornell and Colgate coming in. These will definitely be the most
interesting ones for the season until SLU and Clarkson return the
visit.

Here are some thoughts (please add or counter any comments Bill).

Clarkson vs. Colgate:
The word is revenge. Clarkson wants to get back for their 3
losses last year, especially theref influenced one here. Clarkson's
capable offense is going to be hungry. Colgate has lost most of its
scorers as well as Gagnon, but the came back big to beat BU.

Clarkson vs. Cornell:
This game will probably figure into who gets first place at the end
of the season. Clarkson and Cornell have tied in last 3 meetings.
They even tied at the end of the season in the standings. They had to
use 3 tie brakers. So, will the Clarkson offense be able to score
against the Cornell defense and D'Alessio? He always plays Clarkson
very well. Will the Clarkson defense be able to hold up? I can't
wait to find out.
