A different kind of proposal, though I 100% support John Edwards'
proposal (Winnepeg is not far from St. Cloud, so I could drive).

The issue is how to meld hockey and academics. Lets make it a best out
of three series.
(1) the teams can playoff on the ice (where it really counts)
but then
(2) the teams will take a comprehensive test assessing their academic
performance for the year. This second is most important because it tests
the academic qualities of the hockey players and not the rest of the
anemic student body as some have suggested.

Assuming the same team doesn't win both titles, then we need a
tie-breaker. Testing to see which team can have the most players served
at a local bar is of course unfair since one team may have more
over-aged players (those 21 year old freshmen). Instead, I propose that
the coeds in the schools of the teams that did NOT make the playoffs get
to determine which team has the cutest (sexiest, etc.) players.

This leaves us with three objective and independent measures of which
team is the BEST in the nation.
