A stinger is when a series of nerves in the neck called the brachial
plexus gets hit and the athlete momentarily feels a burning or stinging
sensation down their arm.
All the nearves to the extremities are located in the brachial plexus so,
a hit to this area can trigger sensations felt throughout the arms and
hands. Sensation returns within minutes and this in itself and isolated
