Over 3100 fans saw the Clarkson University Golden Knights win their
fifth straight league game, a 4-1 victory over Union College. The game
was not as spectacular as Friday's.

The teams played to a scoreless tie after one period. Though Clarkson had
almost 47 shots on goal to Union's 27 for the game, many of CU's shots were
not of good quality. In the first period alone, CU goalie Dan Murphy had
to make a few amazing saves just to keep the Dutchmen off the scoreboard.

Clarkson scored first in the second period, a powerplay goal by Dave Seitz,
one of his two on the night. The teams then traded a goal for the remaining
of the period, with CU leading 2-1 after 2 periods of play.

Clarkson, finished off any Union chances of an upset with two more goals
in the third period. Senior, captain, Kevin Murphy scored first to make
it 3-1 and then Dave Seitz added another to make it 4-1. Clarkson's only
other goal, scored in the 2nd, was by sophomore Chris Clark, who is finally
coming out of his freshman year scoring slump.

Clarkson is 5-0 in ECAC play, and 7-3-1 overall, currently ranked 9th in
the country according the the College Hockey/USA Today Poll. Next weekend
the Golden Knights take on the Bears from Brown and the Crimson from
Harvard, two ECAC powerhouses.
