At the banquet on saterday UIC honored the 7 graduating seniors:

The Annual awards were given out at the banquet for:
Scholastic Award (Academic Excellence) - Shannon Finn, Senior
Blueline Club Award (Spirit Award) - Bob Gohde, Senior
Thomas Beckham Award (Rookie of the Year) - Deuce Wynes, Freshman
Steve Richmond Award (Most Improved Player) - Ryan Furness, Freshman
Mark Nordling Memorial Award (Spirit & Dedication) - Bob Gohde
Dennis Hull Award (Most Valuable Player) - Shannon Finn
The UIC FLAME Student Newspaper anounced their MVP player of the year is
Mike Peron
The UIC Blue Line Club Anounced that it has donated several TV's and VCR's
The UIC Hockey alumni Association announced that they will make a
financial commitment to fund an annual Alumni Scholorship that will be given
each year to the Captain of the Team. The First Annual Alumni Scholarship will
be given to junior, Trevor Mathias for the '95-'96 season.
The Captains for the '95-'96 season will be:
Captain: Trevor Mathias (junior)
Co-captains: Matt Brenner, Rob Hutson (juniors)
Assistant captains: Deuce Wynes (freshman), Mike Peron (Sophmore)
UIC Players in the pros:
2 players were unable to attend the banquet since they have signed
profesional contracts and are with their new teams.
Shannon Finn, son of NHL lineman Ron Finn, signed a 25 game tryout
contract with the Minnesota Moose on Thursday, April 6 and was in the lineup
Friday night against Las Vegas. The game, seen on Sports Channel, showed Finn
wearing number 3. The Moose won 4-3 in a shootout.
Jeff Blum is playing for Tallahassee (ECHL).
Chris MacDonald played two games for the Peoria Rivermen (also on a
tryout basis) scoring one goal while picking up 4 PIM. He played with David
Roberts and Denny Felsner, both from Michigan, while in Peoria.
Barry McKinlay played 4 games for the PEI Senators (AHL) & 65 games for
the PEI Thunder Bay (CHL)
Rick Judson played 2 games for Las Vegas (IHL)
Darryl Noren was 46-41-81 in 62 games for Charlotte (#4 in ECHL)
Sheldon Gorski was 44-26-70 in 54 games for San Antonio (CHL)
