If this were the case, then by the rules (4.4.a and 6.27.a), Fowkes should
have called a misconduct on whoever "kick-shot" the puck.
 
"Rarely seen" is right -- I had never even HEARD of this type of shot before
perusing the rule book, and I have certainly never seen it attempted.
