By the same score as the previous night, Colorado College finishes a complete
sweep of Michigan Tech this season.
This time, Tech got the early lead as Liam Garvey put the puck past Judd
Lambert, who was completely screened, at :51 into the game. Towards the end
of the period the Tigers would get even when Chad Remackel put a power play
goal past Luciano Caravaggio. It was tied at one after the first period.
CC got two more goals in the second. The first was from defenseman
Bob Needham, his first goal of the season, and the second from Colin Schmidt,
increasing his lead in the WCHA scoring race.
The Huskies tried to make a comeback in the third, as Kyle Peterson got a
goal to bring the score to within one. But the Tigers regained their two-goal
lead when Peter Geronazzo put one in. Geronazzo got his 100th career point
this afternoon with an assist to Schmidt's goal, making him the sixth Tiger
to reach the Century Club this season. Tech got another goal to bring it
within one with 25 seconds left in the game from Austyn Kryzer, but CC won
the next faceoff and kept the one-goal lead to win the game.
Next up for the Tigers is a home-and-home series with Denver, and then
hosting the first round of playoffs against whoever ends up in the WCHA cellar
the weekend following.
