For no apparent reason, I was sent a copy of "Impact", a newsletter
published by the Hauptman-Woodward Medical Research Institute in Buffalo,
NY. As I was preparing to recycle it, the following article caught my
eye...

Michael Kamatovic is First Elwood Scholar

Michael Kamatovic has joined the Endocrine Biochemistry Department as a
research apprentice. A native of Fort Erie, Ontario, Michael graduated from
Yale University in May, 1994 with a B.S. in biology. He is the first
research intern to benefit from the Elwood Fund, an endowment fund
established to honor the memory of Dr. Charles Elwood. Dr. Elwood was a
member of the Buffalo Medical Group and a close friend of Dr. George Koepf,
the scientific founder of the Hauptman-Woodward Institute.

Michael will assist Dr. Osawa and Carol Yarborough in the assessment of
aromatase projects, including using immunochemical techniques to
investigate autoantibodies to aromatase in human serum.

A superb athlete, Michael's skill at hockey has drawn the attention of
several scouts, and he still maintains an active role in the sport in his
free time.
